Lewis & Clark Visitors Center – Nebraska City, NE

We arrived at the Lewis & Clark Visitors Center at 3pm and they were scheduled to be open until 4pm, so we quickly got set up and went inside. Thankfully, it was air conditioned as it was about 90º outside.

Admission was $8 apiece.  The host was very nice and offered to stay late for us if we needed more time.  It was a neat little museum and we got a pretty good idea of what Lewis & Clark endured during their expedition.

It's location was somewhat secluded, although it was still right off of the highway.  Consequently, you could still here the road noise til after midnight, then it settled down.

I got bit up from the no-see-ums, also know as pirate bugs.  They were a tiny black bug, about the size of the head of a pin, but they had a nasty bite that got your attention immediately and then reacted like a mosquito bite.  They were nasty little suckers.

I slept pretty well, until 1am when a car pulled into the parking lot and parked. I felt like I slept with one eye open the rest of the night, but it was fine, no incidents.

This would be our last Harvest Host location, as we had reserved an RV Park for the next night so we could do laundry and get cleaned up before heading to Melissa's in Dixon, MO.
