Nashville, Tennessee
We arrived in Nashville on November 4th and stayed for three nights at the Two Rivers RV Resort. It was a decent park with full hookups, laundry facilities and conveniently located 8 minutes from the Grand Ole Opry and the Opry Hotel.
Karen had been to Nashville once before with Linda for a Weekenders Convention, but it was my first time.
The RV Park had shuttle service to downtown Nashville, $15/person for all day. They dropped us off one block off Broadway where all the bars and live music is.
It didn’t matter where you went on Broadway, the musicians were outstanding!
While we were in Nashville we went downtown twice to hear live music. Here's a list of some of the many places we were privileged to see:
- Kid Rock's Honky Tonk
- Garth Brooks’ Friends in Low Places
- Rippys Bar & Grill, had the most delicious ribs
- Fleet Street Pub, underground brick British bar with European Soccer on the telly and a speak easy vibe
- Bourbon Street Blues & Boogie Bar in Printers Alley, a few blocks from Broadway, this was our favorite place
- Ryman theatre, but didn’t pay for tour
- Opry Hotel, amazing vegetation, decorations and architecture.
- Went to the Opry House for the Grand Ole Opry live radio show. We saw the Gatlin Brothers, Tony Jackson, Linda Davis, Charlie McCoy and the Kentucky Headhunters. They were all good, but I especially liked the Kentucky Headhunters. Theuy played a gray version of Spirit in the Sky originally by Norman Greenbaum.
