Steamboat Rock State Park, WA – 2026
On May 17th, we met Kirk and Lynda at Steamboat Rock State Park in eastern Washington. It was our second time there, the first for Kirk and Lynda.
This time we stayed in site 150. We had a fantastic view of a serene lake, an off-shoot of Upper Pine Lake.
The weather was great! Low to mid-70s, windy off and on, and just a few drops of rain from a passing cloud. Very pleasant!
While we were there we:
- Had fires just about every night, both wood and propane
- Played Mexican Train dominoes two nights
- Watched the satelites cross the dark night sky
- Enjoyed the company of numerous deer, always just after dark
- Went for long walks and even longer bike-rides
- Visited Grand Coulee Dam and had lunch at a picnic table down below
- Relaxed and enjoyed the amazing views
- Were serenaded to sleep each night by the crickets and bullfrogs
We departed on May 21st, and had a delicious lunch at Burgermiester in Leavenworth on the way back.
We definitely have to go back again and spend more time at Steamboat Rock. It is such a beautiful place!
