FarmJam – 2025
From Thursday, August 28 to Monday, September 1st, we attended FarmJam with Ed, Betty and Linda.
FarmJam is a Country Rock festival held on a private farm in Colville, WA. It's a very well organized three day event, and for the most part, features rising stars of country music, with a couple of veterans sprinkled in.
We're not familiar with many country artists, but we heard some great bands. Our favorites were Mark Chestnut, Corey Kent and Jason Scott and the High Heat.
The weather was super hot, upper 90s the first day, over 100º the remaining days. On Friday night the event was stopped temporarily for a lightning warning. When it resumed, we were surrounded by thunderstorms, but nothing directly over us. The lightning went on for hours and sparked several new fires.
Since we were boondocking, we relied on our propane generator to power the air conditioning. It worked great and our trailer performed well without power, water or sewer hookups.
On Sunday afternoon, we got a text message from Ann’s brother Claud and his wife Theresa. They were at FarmJam and wondered if we were here! So, we connected with them, shared a meal, and watched the final two artists with them.
On Sunday night we also had a wind event. It felt like a 60+ mph invisible tornado. It lasted just a couple of minutes but it sent people scurrying and destroyed countless tents, awnings, canopies and easy-ups. It pushed over a row of sani-kans and inside the concert venue, destroyed the stage. It was gone as fast as it arrived.
After about an hour delay, the final two artists performed and they were both great. Overall, we had a really fun time. Ed and Betty were already talking about next year.
