Lake Coeur d’Alene – 2025
We traveled from Edmonds, WA to Lake Coeur d'Alene, Idaho on a perfect sunny, 75 degree day with no wind to speak of. Our F350 tows our travel trailer so well! The power going up mountain passes and the exhaust brakes going downhill make it a pleasure to drive. And when the big trucks pass you, you don’t even feel it, a big difference from our F150.
This would be our first Boondockers Welcome stay, even though we’ve used our Harvest Host membership numerous times over the past few years. We followed our hosts instructions, traveling west to east we need to approach using Sunnyside Drive in order to avoid having to find a place to turn around.
We had to use 4-wheel drive to back up hill into our site, next to their shop building, but it worked fine. We had a peek-a-boo view of the lake.
Karen and I set up our chairs and played a couple of quick games of cribbage before dinner.
We met Bill the owner as well as his son-in-law Keith snd his daughter Jennifer, who was celebrating her 44th birthday. They were our neighbors in the Class A Winnebago parked across from us.
We had a nice long conversation with Bill, super nice guy. We were grateful that they were willing to share their peaceful property with us.
Our home for the night was ultra-quiet and we slept well.
If we pass by that way again, we would plan to stay for two or three nights so we could experience the bike trail and the many amenities the area has to offer. The bike trail runs along the lake all the way into Spokane.
