Pal’s Brewery – North Platte, NE
Karen woke up with a bad headache, a combination of one Moscow Mule the night before, the elevation of 7800 feet, and the consequential dehydration.
So, after a late start, I drove the entire 320 miles from Elk mountain to North Platte, Nebraska, while Karen reclined and tried to make herself comfortable.
Again, it was a very windy drive, 45 mph crosswinds, where high profile campers under 20,000 pounds, like ours, were prohibited. We slowed down to 55 and powered through it anyway. The speed limit was 80 and we had been going about 65.
We arrived in North Platte at the Pals Brewery to 85° heat. It was a gorgeous day. Karen went to bed right after we got set up and I walked over to the brewery, ordered a pizza and watched the end of the Yankees Red Sox game on the big screen. The place had good food and a very nice ambience. It also featured an outdoor deck with a nice view of the sunset.
Pals Brewery really knows how to do it right, in terms of Harvest Hosting. They have several level gravel pads on the south parking lot that can accommodate 8 to 10 RVs in that location. They also have a north lot that gets muddy when it rains hard. We had a nice spot in the south lot, even though there was no rain in sight.
I would definitely stay there again and maybe Karen will be able to experience the brewery with me next time.
